Interview the person and find out about practices to address challenging behaviors. 3. Guidance Plan: Based on the information collected through the interviews and from your readings, create a guidance plan stating how to guide and address behavior in the classroom. Define the purpose of the classroom guidance and management plan for the age-group that you selected. Describe how it meets the developmental needs of children. (What will be your goals? In what ways your plan responds to the developmental characteristics of the group?) (NAEYC 1c) a. Describe any specific proceduand actions to address challenging behavior (What are the steps and actions to take?). Align the behavioral expectations in your plan with the local district?s policies delineated for young children. Check the classroom space requirements for your local district, state and those established by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Based on the appropriate classroom space for your target age group, develop a floor plan showing how space will be appropriately distributed. (NAEYC 1a, 1c) a. Based on the floor plan, provide as an appendix a list of learning materials to include in the environment.
