Description

For many first responders, including victim advocates, self-care is an afterthought. Victim advocates, police officers, fire fighters, chaplains and other first responders are helpers by nature. Typically they are so busy helping other people in the worst day of their life that they put themselves last. This situation causes vicarious trauma and can negatively impact their careers, personal relationships and overall health.
