Description

About your project presentation (30 minutes), I suggest the following key parts.

1.Introduction

  • State out clearly what your topic is all about.
  • Motivate your study, i.e. why you think the topic is important (academically and practically).
  • What the potential value and contributions your study would have.

2.Literature Review

  • To have academic value, your topic should be related to some existing academic studies.
  • Through discussing briefly the existing academic studies (relevant to your topic), highlight what is “known” already and what is “unknown” (i.e. not yet studied) that your proposed topic aims to study (so as to fill the gap — and the potential contributions of your study)

3. Hypotheses Development

  • Force yourself to think clearly and exactly what you want to study in your proposal through listing down the (testable) hypotheses.
  • You need to develop each hypothesis so that it is not coming from nowhere. You are supposed to provide the reason and logic behind why you would come up with those hypotheses.

4.Research Methodology

  • Try your best to come up with regression models to test the hypotheses you develop in the earlier section
