Description
A critical component of the grant process is communication. Whether it is while building a relationship with a funding partner, during the solicitation process, or when supplying updates to existing funding, you will need to be prepared to provide multiple types of letters, reports, and executive summaries. In this discussion, you write a draft of a letter to one of the potential funding sources you identified in your Wk 1 Discussion (or to another source if you found a better opportunity), and you discuss the purpose and importance of this type of communication with grantors.
Write a letter for one of the following purposes:
- Introducing yourself to build a potential relationship
- Inquiry about potential funding
- Letter of intent
- Follow-up to a phone call
- Thank-you note for providing support during the application process
Respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words:
- Consider the purpose and audience for the letter you wrote. Why did you choose to write for this purpose?
- What type of response would you expect from the letter you wrote?
- Why is communication between you and possible grantors an important part of the grant writing process?
- What types of communication are most valuable to the process of developing a grant?

1)I am looking to make my town safer and stop the drug trade that goes on in my town, with your help and funding we will be able to equip our officers with top of the line gear and training, this way we are able to make a dent in the drug trafficking rings. Drugs have been one of the most damaging part of my town, we have had our few victories, and but we lack the man power and equipment to do anything about it, with the funding that we receive we will be able to crack down on drug houses, put more dealers, and smuggles behind bars, and we will case major damage to the drug trade that go in and out of our town, this is what the towns people want, we are peaceful people and we want our town back and our children safe.
