A 59-year old Mexican female has been admitted to the small hospital where you are an administrator. After treatment in the ER, she has been transferred to a semi-private room. You happen to be making rounds at the time of her admission to the clinical unit. She has had a stroke but is conscious. Her blood pressure is elevated and she has weakness on her right side. The admitting care provider has noticed her clutching a rosary that is around her neck. Several members of her family have accompanied her.  Describe how you – as the administrator can facilitate a positive health outcome for this patient based on her/family’s cultural needs while in the hospital.

Select one of the common health problem. Discuss how, as a healthcare administrator, you might ‘connect’ with the Hispanic/Latino population within the community to assist in decreasing the incidence of the disease. Be creative and think broadly
