From the instructor: BUS303 Week Three Discussion Forum Added Guidance

Prior to addressing this week’s discussion question, make sure youreview Chapter Section 8.1 through 8.4 thoroughly. Keep in mind that thequestion is not necessarily about you personally or your personalmotivation factors. Instead, consider the possibility that employeeswork for all sorts of reasons including the work itself, building acareer and the opportunities that avail themselves includingadvancement, achieving recognition, making a valuable contribution, earning the livable wage, having adequate health insurance coverage, building a retirement nest egg, staying busy, and the list of reasonsgoes on and on. Designing compensation and benefit programs then becomesa challenging process.

Having stated the foregoing, the real question is how do we as anorganization attract and retain employees using a comprehensivecompensation and benefits program that includes all of these employeemotivations and do so in a way to attract and retain employees.
