At clinical I was recently on a Neuro ICU floor. I had a young quadriplegic patient who was getting IV dilaudid for pain management but he also had an order for NSAIDs PRN. I was really questioning whether or not we should continue to give the dilaudid as it is an oipiod or hold as his heart rate was in the 40’s and respirations were between 8-11.
