First, team should select a current social issue related to the rights of ethnic or social groups as your topic. Team members should suggest and decide on topic. Make sure that topic selected will address all of the questions below.
Second, research the subject and existing action plans designed to solve the issue. Team members should select sections to complete.
Third, clearly state topic on Title Page and in the introduction. Outline will be used to complete the Week 5 Microsoft® PowerPoint® Presentation.
Fourth, develop a 1,050- to 1,200-word comprehensive outline (use short sentences or statements and do not exceed word count) of your proposition to promote equal rights (See Sample Outline in Student Resources). Team members should submit completed portions in OUTLINE format to team leader. Edit sections for clarity. Be sure to include the following:
- The issues, challenges, and opportunities experienced by this ethnic or social group in the labor force
- How society has constructed this ethnic or social group’s identity
- The legal framework relating to this issue
- Summary of existing or proposed solutions of differing groups. Consider the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, corporate human resource departments, political strategies, government agencies, religious groups, and grass roots organizations for possible solutions. (You should select no more than 3 of the suggested considerations).
- Whether or not this issue exists in other countries, and if so, how it is handled by differing groups internationally.
- Your team’s compromise or alternatives to existing solutions– Each team member must submit their alternative solution.
Outline your proposition and clearly identify, using initials, each team member’s contribution to the outline. Include a short introduction and conclusion (3-5 statements).
Include at least five academic references in your research (at least one reference from each team member).
Format your outline according to 300 course-level APA guidelines. See Student Resources for guidelines.
