found this Ted Talk interesting (it is a quite long). I meant to post it last week but I forgot but it is still relevant to our on going discussions. The speaker is recalling her time in the hospital and her perception of the care she received, or her perception of the lack of caring or compassion that the nurses demonstrated. How does her retelling of experience relate to some of the nursing theories that we have been reviewing in particular the caring theories, the interpersonal relationship theories, Roy’s Adaptation theory? Do you think nursing has changed so much with technology and the EHR that some of the caring or compassion with the new generation of nurses may be lost?
