Description

  • Using the AMOCO US total random sample from the 1997 Renewal Survey, (1) create a category score for one of the scales described in the Amoco Renewal Survey 1997 key.

    • Which is the weakest item?
    • Should it be removed?
    • Why or why not?
  • (3) Conduct an exploratory factor analysis on that scale.
    • How many factors do you get?
    • Would you judge the scale to be unidimensional?
    • Why or why not?
  • (4) Reliability & Validity; Review the readings by Casio & Aguinas (2011) and Gliem & Gliem (2003) paying special attention to the issues of measuring reliability and demonstrating content, construct, and criterion related reliability. Analyze the validity studies of Eby et al. (2008) and Donnell et al. (2001) and comment on the strengths and weaknesses of the design of each based relative to reliability and validity on these two readings. This can be in bullet point form.
