Description
Hello everyone, my name is Michael. I’m currently studying Space Studies with my concentration being in Astronomy. I’m originally from St. Louis, Missouri and I last took a math class in 2019. I’m currently taking this class, if I’m honest, to get my degree. But, I also need to understand math better if I’m going to succeed in my degree, so why not start with the basics. I definitely identified with the people holding their heads and screaming in frustration over math, but I’m hoping that will change by the end of this class. My attitude will definitely affect my success in this course by allowing me to prepare, and hopefully in turn succeed in this course. I’m hoping that preparation will lead to success, but we shall see. Three things I plan to do in order to succeed in this class is, as I said prepare and give myself ample time to complete each homework assignment. I know that if I wait until the night before something is due, I’m not going to be able to complete the assignment, so giving myself time is imperative. Being social and productive in discussions will also help both me, and hopefully you all succeed in this class as well. If I’m productive in the discussions, it gives you all more things to respond to me about, but it also potentially allows me to understand each discussion topic better. Lastly, planning ahead, and trying to understand things I know I don’t understand before it comes up will also be imperative. If I can do that, I can hopefully guarantee understanding the things we’re talking about, and if I don’t, it gives me plenty of time to ask the instructor and get help.
