Requirements

1. The Concept Map must visually connect all of the specified objectives? (Program Outcomes, MSN Essentials, and NONPF Competencies)?to course work?(such as specific discussion board topics, written assignments, exams, lessons, and reading content).  
2. All items should be labeled, for instance, label the objectives and label the course work you select with name of the assignment/reading/discussion board topic and which week it was introduced.
3. Use Microsoft Word or a PowerPoint to create a Concept Map. You can use the features found on the “Insert” tab of a Word doc (in the horizontal ribbon on the top of a Word doc page). For instance, if you click on “insert” you will see shapes and SmartArt. You can use a PowerPoint slide with shapes and lines to create a concept/mind map. This is not a PowerPoint presentation , but a PowerPoint slide can be used to “draw” the Map.

Over the past few years human trafficking has increased in numbers and the communities that have been most effected are the “LGBTQ+,  minorities and low income population.” Per the article, discussions on “the intersection of health care and human trafficking, highlighting the critical role health care providers have in human trafficking prevention and response” (https://www.acf.hhs.gov, 2022). According to the article written by Jacob (Jacob,2022) human trafficking  52.36% of the world sex trafficking victims are happening in Northern America, and 84% of the sexual exploitation is females, 15% males, and 1% transgender.” With only about 0.04% survival rate. During this semester we have discussed many determinants of health. In the case of human trafficking what inter-professional collaboration may be the most useful tool when addressing human trafficking. According to the Worldwide Health Organization (WHO, 2021) when it comes to human trafficking, “ The health consequences of violence can be immediate and acute, long-lasting and chronic, and/or fatal.” As medical professionals we have the opportunity to collaborate within our field and assist anyone who is living through this experience. Inter-professional collaboration can take on the form of psychological help, medical help and social work. Here is the second one markSabrina CosbyAug 17, 2022 2:09 AMHello All,For my discussion I chose the following New York Post article:Pimp who chopped up prostitute charged with murder, sex traffickingBy David Propper Publication date: May 25, 2022                This article discusses a man from Brooklyn, New York named Somorie Moses, a.k.a Sugar Bear, who is being charged with the dead of one his prostitutes. He was initially acquitted of the murder in criminal court in 2019, but he will be re-tried for the murder by the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Eastern District. He also faces federal charges connected to sex trafficking 8 other females, including minors, since 2003. Authorities allege that Moses beat Leondra Foster to death before using a knife and saw to dismember her body. Parts of her body were dumped at a Bronx sanitation site, but other parts of her body, including her head, were found in a deep freezer in Moses’s apartment by the police.  Moses is believed to have brutally beat, raped, and tortured his victims to coerce them into working as prostitutes for him. He is being charged with one count of 1st degree murder and can be given the death penalty if found guilty (Propper, 2022).                Trafficking violates the rights of humans and places the health of adults and children throughout the world in jeopardy. Trafficking impacts the world on a global scale due to its wide distribution. Therefore, advocates are pushing for its eradication in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (SDG 8.7).  An interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving is required to help victims of trafficking to cope with their issues. It takes a multidisciplinary approach from key stakeholders, law enforcement, social services, mental health clinicians, and victim advocates to fight against, prevent, and treat patients of sex trafficking. These groups must work together and share information to minimize the chances of re-traumatization of the victim and families. Victims of sex/human trafficking have extensive needs such as housing, medical bills, mental health care, crisis intervention, legal aid, etc. Health professionals can feel overwhelmed when working with patients of trafficking. One study showed that 44% of service providers listed ineffective coordination with federal agencies as common barrier to successful care (Greenbaum, 2020).ReferencePropper, D. (May 25, 2022).
